Sample Activities
Sunshine Child Care encourages a child's development through structured and unstructured activities.
Circle Time - a time to encourage listening and learning skills through reading books, completing the calendar, and reporting on the weather.
Physical Activity, Singing, Music, & More - weather permitting we head outside for large motor skill activities. When indoors we play orgainized games, exercise to videotapes, or sing and dance to favorite children's songs.
Sensory & Science - using weekly or monthly themes children learn basic concepts on how things work through the use of sensory boxes and toddler science activities.
Crafts & Worksheets - to encourage fine motor skill development children will be given many opportunities to do such things as cut, color, paint, and sting beads. Additionally, Pre-K children are provided with activities and worksheets that cover the basic skills of letters, numbers, patterns, and matching.
Free To Choose - Plenty of free time is provided each day for children to build with blocks, play dress-up, put together a puzzle, or do whatever they choose.
Nap Time - Shortly after lunch is nap time. With the lights low, and some soft music, children rest their minds and bodies.
